I created this site to share my knowledge of and experiences with Jewish Communities in Sub-Saharan Africa, particularly the emerging Jewish Community in Nigeria. There Igbos, Ikweres, Ibibios and others are reclaiming their spiritual legacy. It is exciting to witness and participate in the development and evolution of the practice of Normative Judaism - as opposed to Messianic “Judaism,” which most people in Nigeria who call themselves Jews believe in and practice.
I think that you will be fascinated by what you will read, and I hope that you too will want to get involved.

Since creating the site, I have found that there is so much more to share. I am proud that my synagogue, Tikvat Israel Congregation in Rockville, Maryland, has shipped two 40’ containers to Africa; their contents included Jewish books, computers and an assortment of items including crutches, walkers, bicycles, housewares, used clothing - and matzah. Our Book Project has evolved; we have donated books to communities throughout the world. I also have developed more than a passing curiosity about the Black Hebrew experience here in the United States. And I continue to find all sorts of websites that are interesting and engaging.
